5 Minutes for Mom is one of the BEST mommy blogs on the web today. Their mission is to “provide an essential, go-to site for moms that entertains and informs, while promoting the online mom community” and they do a very good job at doing exactly that!
So when we found out they have a 5 Minutes for Mom Giveaway section to their site, we couldn’t wait to take part! We picked out one of our most popular products, Smith’s Diamond Edge Gourmet Electric Knife & Scissors Sharpener, and sent it to Mom Reviewer, Monica B., in North Carolina and waited to see what she thought. Thankfully, Monica loved the product as much as we do! Here is her review…
I will never have a dull knife again!
When I was asked to try out the Diamond Edge Gourmet Electric Knife and Scissors Sharpener, I could not turn it down. We have had knives from years ago that we have tried to sharpen. We’ve purchased little hand held knife sharpeners at the grocery store, in kitchen stores, and we’ve even taken them to the meat department at our local grocery store only to have them get dull after only a few weeks of use.
We will struggle with them trying to cut veggies or meat and get so frustrated until we can take them to get sharpened yet again. Needless to say, my hubby was really excited when this showed up at our door.
As soon as he got home, he took all of our knives out of the drawer and set up the sharpener. He did exactly as the box said and read all of the directions thoroughly before using the sharpener. Once he was sure he knew how to use it, away he went sharpening knife after knife.
We did comparison cuts with the knives and a lemon and were very surprised at the difference! The before cuts were very difficult, often squashing the lemon before the peel was even cut, but the after cuts were amazingly smooth. It cut through that lemon like it was butter. The best part was that this sharpener also sharpens serrated blades with the manual finishing slot.
Another cool feature of the Diamond Edge Gourmet Electric Knife and Scissors Sharpener, as it’s name states, is the scissors sharpener.
I love to sew, and when I’m making my girls some clothing, or working on a very detailed quilt pattern, sharp scissors are a must for accurate fabric cuts.
I have a very good pair of scissors that I haven’t been able to use for quite a long time, because they had become so dull. we sharpened them with the Scissors Sharpening section and tried a few cuts. It was awesome! I’m so glad I don’t have to spend money on yet another pair of scissors!
